So it looks like Die Brucke will be playing our last show this Saturday at Gus' Pub with Career Suicide, The Hold and a very special speaking engagement with Mark Black. Myles Deck will be awesomely drumming us into that dark night. Not a bad way to go out, overall. I don't want to be lame or dramatic or anything like that, but I would be lying if I were to say I wasn't bummed. But, chin up, right? Onward and upward, right? Stand tall, right? (that's what she said).

I hope I can still play with all the tears streaming down my face. I'll probably short out the electric bass guitar with all the water. From the tears.

oh, it's such a shame

that the jay reatard show blew. i mean, it sort of didn't "blow" per se (a really crazy show like that can't totally suck), but i was really really disappointed with everything. three effing songs, i totally got beaten up by an unruly mob, and then there was no pay off.

i have been noticing a theme lately where people i idolize are letting me down. i was going to go up to jay crying, but i pulled it together and gave him a piece of my mind like an adult.

he claimed someone was "maliciously" pouring beer on his pedals and that's why he stopped, and if i ever meet the person who poured the beer, i will kill them.

We're in Windsor now. Played a fun show at the Coach and Horses with Vermin and Disco Assault who were just awesome. It wasn't a huge turnout, but people seemed really into it and we sold quite a bit of merch which was nice considering the bad luck we've been having as of late.

Here's some of the bad luck:

-Ran into not one, but two snowstorms.
-Got trapped in Marquette, MI for a day.
-Got stuck in Duluth, MN for two days with van problems.
-Received a speeding ticket for going 67 mph in a 55 zone, we were about 10 minutes from a 65 zone.
-I fell into Mitch at our Thunder Bay show and broke the neck of his guitar when he fell into his amp.

Luck changed when we hit Sudbury after driving for 12 hours from Thunder Bay.

Tonight is Guelph and then Jay Reatard afterwards.

The Untold Delights of Duluth

Last night I won trivia at Teja's the bar/grill across the Econo Lodge parking lot.
Today we're heading to Target to buy cheap American goods.

In the last 48 hours, we have driven through Ontario, Michigan and Wisconsin, we were close to getting out of Minnesota, but well...

Before crossing the border I had to ditch my box of "fun stuff": Two cuban cigars, a half dozen M-80's, three dozen firecrackers and a fake blood capsule.
I figured they'd let me in with the fake blood capsule, but you never know.

There's a dumpster in Sault Ste Marie that I need to search when I get back to Canada.

Youth of Duluth

We are in Duluth. We should be in Winnipeg.

We ran into van problems as we pulled into a Mobil to fill up.
All I wanted was a Sonic (I am desperately seeking a Sonic),
but we ended up with zero electrical in our rental van.

We spent the better half of the afternoon at the Mobil
calling Winnipeg to cancel our show and any plans we may have had.

We're now stuck in an Econo Lodge in Duluth.
I want to die. I want to die a lot.

We got invited to "party" at an underground punk party tonight.
Instead we are watching Jackass in our hotel room.
There's Galaga in the lobby. I am going to get good at it.
